There is nothing wrong with piggy-back systems... there are plenty of high hp cars tuned with piggy-backs. For example, the HKS F-Con is a piggy-back, and has been used for many years in Japan in many of the very high hp cars. Any real tuning should involve both fuel and timing. The e-manage/piggy-backs may not allow fuel to be adjusted independently from timing, but that is just a minor inconvenience, since timing can be adjusted independently from fuel. A/f and timing are not totally independent engine paramters anyway, when you change the A/F the amount of timing the engine can safely run also changes... and vice versa. I am not trying to discuss which (e-manage, zem, etc) is better, just that the e-manage is valid tuning tool, not a POS. Proper knowledge is necessary to use the e-manage, just as proper knowledge is necessary to use the zemulator. Neither, IMHO, should be tuned by someone without good knowledge and some experience.
